ASUS has announced in a press release that its new B450 boards for AMD Ryzen are now available in major stores. Therefore, in this article we show you its available models, features and price.
First of all, it is worth mentioning the segmentation that Asus currently follows for its motherboards, so the B450 STRIX boards would be the top of the range of this chipset, followed by the TUF and PRIME series.
ASUS ROG Strix, the top of the range for the B450 chipset
This is Asus' top TOP for the B450 chipset. Its only ATX board is the ROG Strix B450-F, which succeeds the namesake model of the B350 chipset. It has a VRM of 6 + 2 phases that, if history repeats itself with the previous generation, will be of very good quality although perhaps a little hotter than expected in case of overclock ( better to cool the box well ). The heatsinks are quite generous and the board has somewhat extravagant RGB lighting.
Its rear connections are as follows: 1 PS / 2, 1 Displayport, 1 HDMI, 1 Ethernet, 2 USB 3.1 Gen2 type A, 4 USB 3.1 Gen1 ( 3.0 ), 2 USB 2.0, 1 S / PDIF and 5 audio connectors. Its price is around 135 euros.
We have another board in the Strix series , the B450-I with ITX format, that is, for equipment inside very small boxes. Despite its size, it includes a phase setup similar to that of its older sister and, again, a nice feature set. Of course, its price is increased with about 180 euros currently.
TUF B450-PLUS in ATX and mATX format
The TUF series will incorporate the B450-PLUS plates, with ATX format, and B450M-PLUS, with Micro ATX format.
Both plates are quite similar in terms of performance, and share the military aesthetic that characterizes the sub-brand. Regarding the STRIX series, we are reduced to 4 + 2 format power phases, with connectivity at the rear quite similar to that of the STRIX series. It is a logical reduction compared to the higher models, which we detail in the following table.
Comparison between the ROG Strix series and TUF Gaming
ASUS has provided a comparative table between its STRIX and TUF boards, very important for those who are shuffling, for example, if the ROG STRIX B450-F is worth enough over the TUF B450-PLUS that costs about 30 euros less.

PRIME series, most basic range plates
The PRIME series comprises less quirky boards and a slightly more basic range than TUF, with less focus on gaming. The PRIME B450-Plus has somewhat worse dissipation and certain features like the metallic protection of the PCIe slots disappear. However, for the rest it is quite similar to the homonymous TUF and they seem to have come from the same base.
In the M-ATX range we have the PRIME B450M-K and B450M-A. Both are fairly basic and would not be overclocked or extreme use due to their non-dissipative VRM. As for the differences between the two, the first is the most basic with two RAM slots instead of four and a few less ports.

Currently, the approximate prices of ASUS B450 boards are as follows:
- ASUS PRIME B450M-K: 80 eurosASUS PRIME B450M-A: 86 eurosASUS TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING: 101 eurosASUS PRIME B450-PLUS: 106 eurosASUS TUF B450-PLUS GAMING: 111 eurosASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING: 135 eurosASUS ROG STRIX B50 -I GAMING: 180 euros
