Although there was a time when it was believed that cryptocurrency mining was already an unprofitable sector, with the appearance of Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies things have once again shone for both manufacturers and consumers, who are obtaining enough benefits to coast of mining using custom PCs.

EVGA GTX 1060 Miner Edition 6GB, graphics card for cryptocurrency mining and no gaming support

For this reason, it appears that EVGA will also join this market with the launch of a custom GTX 1060 Miner Edition graphics card with a 6GB bandwidth, slated to appear in July.

As it is a video card strictly oriented to cryptocurrency mining, it will not have a video output (it cannot be used for gaming). Regarding its specifications, it seems that the new card will have a standard frequency of 1506 MHz and a Turbo Boost mode of up to 1708 MHz. On the other hand, the memory will have an effective speed of 8008MHz and a 192-bit bus.

What is not clear at the moment is whether the new EVGA graphics card will be available in all markets or only in some, although it is known that it will go on sale in Asia and that it could have several restrictions on its warranty.

This is the first information that an NVIDIA partner is creating a graphics card especially for cryptocurrency mining. Tech portal Goldfries has also confirmed the arrival of the EVGA Miner Edition for mid-July, and they also reveal that its price in Malaysia would be around $ 300, slightly less than the price of a standard GTX 1060.

Other cryptocurrency mining cards

Sapphire also has an RX 470 especially geared towards cryptocurrency mining, although it is only available in some markets and had a single connector for monitors via a DVI-D port. Also, AMD is having a lot of success thanks to its RX 580 and RX 570, which are being used by many users for the same purpose.

There are many preconceived notions about mining and many tend to think that it is an easy way to earn money. However, the return on investment is not always guaranteed and depends on several factors. If you would like to know more details about GPU mining, there are several useful guides on the web.
