The company itself has announced that it will be possible to control the access that the social network has to the location of your Android phone while you are not using the app on the device. This new function on Facebook works similarly to the location history that the social network has. In this case, users will be able to determine if they want to have the switch that allows the social network to access the location of the phone turned on or off, when the social network app is not being used. This is something that will be possible in the configuration of it.

In the app settings we will find Location in the background, next to a switch. So we only have to turn the switch on or off, depending on what we want to do.

This update is being rolled out to Facebook in a phased manner. Therefore, it is likely that there are users who have to wait even a couple of days until they will receive the function on their phones.
