Facebook for Android leaves us with an important change. The company itself has announced that it will be possible to control the access that the social network has to the location of your Android phone while you are not using the app on the device. This is a notice that has already been entered in the social network app itself in the operating system.

Facebook on Android allows blocking access to the location in the background

Until now, on Android it was not possible to limit access to the location of an app that was not in use. Luckily, changes in this regard are beginning to arrive in the operating system.

Changes on Facebook for Android

This new function on Facebook works similarly to the location history that the social network has. In this case, users will be able to determine if they want to have the switch that allows the social network to access the location of the phone turned on or off, when the social network app is not being used. This is something that will be possible in the configuration of it.

In the app settings we will find Location in the background, next to a switch. So we only have to turn the switch on or off, depending on what we want to do.

This update is being rolled out to Facebook in a phased manner. Therefore, it is likely that there are users who have to wait even a couple of days until they will receive the function on their phones.
