Results are still leaking from the new AMD Ryzen processors. Now it has been the turn of the 3DMARK Fire Strik test comparing its performance with processors from the enthusiastic line: i7-6800k, i7-6900k, i7-6950X and the one from the entry line for gaming: as is the recent i7-7700k.

Three processors listed in the tests appear, with code names:

  • AMD Ryzen: ZD3406BAM88F4_38 / 34_Y: Eight cores. Supposed Ryzen 1700X or R7 1800X. AMD Ryzen: ZD3301BBM6IF4_37 / 33_Y: Six cores and unknown model. AMD Ryzen: ZD3201BBM4KF4_34 / 32_Y: 4 cores and unknown model.

The tests that have been listed in this test, obviously have been those of "Physics". Why is it and not the global ones? The reason is simple, 3DMARK is a benchmark that stresses both the processor and the graphics card . To have a reference of the power of the processor, we must look at the physical tests (since it is always done by him, unless we tell him otherwise) in the case of the graph, we must review the graphics score.

As we have commented on several occasions, graphics cards use the processor less every day, so having processors with fast cores improves the minimum and a possible bottleneck. How fast are the new AMD Ryzen?

If what appears in these graphs is true… it does not look bad at least the power of the AMD Ryzen eight-core processor R7 1700X at 4 GHz? Really close to the most powerful of all, the 10-core i7-6950X. As we can see we would be in front of a titan for a price of less than 600 euros. And high-end motherboards that will come out for just 220 euros.

The 6-core processor does not look bad, as it far exceeds the i7-7700k at 4.8 GHz. All this with a supposed stock performance of the AMD Ryzen 6-core AMD Ryzen 5 1600X?

Finally we see a four cores that would be equipped with an i5-6400, if its price is around 155 euros it would be an interesting option.

We also see a comparison of performance in single-core that obtain a very similar performance between them. I ask you a question… Will it be possible to unlock cores as seen in previous ranges? If these performance tests are confirmed, we are facing a real all-rounder and a new incentive in our new high-performance and gaming configurations.
