Everything RGB lighting sells, and very well. Almost all the peripherals and components of a PC have some type of RGB lighting and for many users, this is a facet that is essential when it comes to assembling a PC. Fractal Design launches its Prisma series, so we can add and update our PC fans with addressable RGB LED technology.

Fractal Design launches its Prisma series of fans

Fractal has jumped into the RGB train, with new 120mm and 140mm Prisma fan offerings, with models that are designed to offer addressable RGB lighting and support for PWM or non-PWM fan control.

Fractal's new Prisma fan designs come in 120mm and 140mm variants, offering the same quiet optimized LLS bearings and semi-opaque white blades that are ideal for RGB lighting. These fans are marketed under the name Prisma AL (addressable lighting) and are compatible with ASUS Aura, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion and ASRock Polychrome Sync RGB control software. The fans can be connected to devices that support 3-pin ARGB outputs, which are common on most high-end motherboards.

These new Prisma AL series fans are designed to be interconnected and support the Fractal R1 series RGB controller, which is available separately. The fans are available both individually or as part of a 3 fan package. Each of these 120mm fans has seven blades and 1200RPM rotation speeds for the 3-pin version and 500-2000 RPM for the PWM versions. Larger 140mm versions offer slower speeds of 1000 RPM, for the 3-pin version, and between 500 and 1700 RPM for PWM powered variants.

Prisma series pricing

The new Fractal Design Prisma SL and AL fans are available worldwide now and prices can be seen in the table above.
