G.Skill is a leader in the manufacture of RAM for laptops and desktops. The Ripjaws range is extremely popular with medium / high-end teams for its performance and excellent quality / price.

With the output of DDR4 memory all manufacturers have put the batteries taking memories from a base speed of 2133 MHz to 3200 MHz with a CL 15 reading and a voltage from 1.25w. This time we bring you the most powerful kit of the moment, the F4-3000C15Q-16GRR at 3000 Mhz and in red.

Both sides of memories

We find a classic presentation among the memories of G.Skill, specifically a plastic blister closed by ampoules at all four corners. In the front area we see a stamp that refers to DDR4 memories and compatible with the X99 chipset, while in the back we see all the technical characteristics, serial number, latency and voltage of the memories.

G.Skill 4 detail

Beautiful… What a view!

I have fallen in love with this color!

288 pins

Specifically, we have a pack of four DDR4 modules of 4GB each, which make a total of 16GB. The heatsinks are red and the memory PCB is black, giving it an elegant touch but with aggressive features. Currently we can find the kits in the colors black, red and blue. As technical characteristics it has 288 DDR4 pins, a speed of 3000 Mhz, a latency of CL 15-15-15-35, voltage 1.20 v, Quad Channel technology, XMP 2.0 support, compatibility with Intel Haswell-E (LGA 2011-3) and X99 chipset.

Regarding the design we can see two faces. In the first we have a sticker that refers to the series "Ripjaws 4", while on the back we have some specifications: the exact model of the module, speed, CL and serial number. About the heatsink a little more we are going to tell you, it is more than enough to support the 3000 mhz and we will not have any type of problem with high-end heatsinks or motherboards of any format, since we have a height of 4 cm.

Final words and conclusion

I have been using this platform for several months with these fantastic G.Skills Ripjaws 4 at 3000 mhz and I cannot be happier. The result in aesthetics, performance and speed is very good, although we have hardly noticed a difference compared to the perennial DDR3 at 2400 Mhz… which tells me that there is still a lot of improvement for this DDR4 beginner.

On the features it has everything to succeed: 3000 MHz, 1.20v low voltage, XMP 2.0 profile, CL15 latencies (15-15-15-35 T2), ability to overclock to @ 3200 MHz, efficient and low profile heatsink. Making it the perfect candidate for high-end heatsinks or tight boards.

In our tests we have gone from synthetic tests like games giving an excellent result. Currently we can find this kit at a high price of € 290 or € 300 … which makes it an expensive but highly amortizable kit for this platform and the following ones that will appear.

WE RECOMMEND G.Skill breaks the 5.5 GHz barrier with its DDR4 memory
