Nvidia has announced its new GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti graphics cards for laptops taking advantage of CES 2017 and that the first teams to assemble them have been announced. Both cards are manufactured by Samsung with its 14nm FinFET process.

GeForce GTX 1050 Coming to Laptops

First, we have the GeForce GTX 1050 that reaches a base frequency of 1, 354 MHz that goes up to 1, 493 MHz in turbo mode to improve performance. Its core consists of 640 CUDA Cores, 40 TMUs and 32 ROPs, so we have a very similar configuration to the desktop model. It will arrive in versions with 2 GB and 4 GB of VRAM GDDR5 with a speed of 7 GHz.

We recommend our guide to the best graphics cards by ranges.

Secondly we have the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti that arrives with frequencies much higher than the desktop model, so it will be clearly more powerful while maintaining the rest of the specifications with 768 CUDA Cores, 48 TMUs and 32 ROPs. Its core works at 1493 MHz base and rises to 1620 MHz in turbo mode. It will arrive in versions with 2 GB and 4 GB of VRAM GDDR5 with a speed of 7 GHz.

Both cards are now available to major notebook manufacturers and should allow us to see new equipment at fairly affordable prices and all the benefits of Nvidia's Pascal architecture.
