The latest rumors suggest that a new graphics card based on Nvidia's 16-nm Pascal architecture will be announced very soon, it is the GeForce GTX 1080M that will allow the construction of very high-performance portable equipment.

GeForce GTX 1080M to be announced at Computex with Polaris

The GeForce GTX 1080M is expected to be a shortened version of the desktop GTX 1080 with fewer CUDA cores and above all a much more committed TDP given the cooling limitations of notebooks. As for its memory, it is expected to come with GDDR5 that although it is more limited than the GDDR5X in features, it allows high performance at a more contained price.

Its performance would be spectacular and would even go as far as the GeForce GTX TITAN X desktop, an achievement in a chip locked inside a laptop with the great limitations that this implies. There is no doubt that Pascal has taken a huge step forward in performance but even more in energy efficiency thanks to its 16 nm.

At Computex we should also see the new AMD Radeon R400 based on Polaris at 14nm and which also promise a very high level of energy efficiency, proof of which is the Radeon R9 470X with a TDP of only 60W and which aims quite high in performance.
