Geforce gtx 780, near titan in price, but and in performance?

Anonim

According to the latest rumors, NVIDIA's upcoming flagship GeForce GTX 780 would be priced close to the GeForce GTX Titan. According to previous news, the NVIDIA GeForce 700 series that includes Geforce GTX 780, Geforce GTX 770 and Geforce GTX 760 Ti are expected to launch in late May, at the same Computex 2013.

The GeForce GTX 780, formerly known as Titan LE (later revealed as the card's code name), features NVIDIA's flagship GK110 core architecture. Although we don't have specific details it is expected to offer lower SMX and CUDA cores compared to the GeForce GTX Titan, which has 2, 688 cores and comes with 6GB of GDDR5 memory. In the early news arrivals of the Titan LE card, it was observed that the GPU would be using 5 GB of memory through a 320 bit interface however new reports mention that NVIDIA would have to lower the memory to 3 GB to ensure that the cost of the GeForce GTX 780 does not go up in the clouds like on Titan.

In principle, the NVIDIA reference design will arrive, although as usual custom models from manufacturers will come later. But, being based on the GK110 core would mean a major blow to the price level, we assume about $ 759 ?. Accustomed to the 1: 1 change, which always make us in Europe. That will be about € 759, depending on the assembler…

However, we only have a month or two left until NVIDIA shows its GeForce 700 series to consumers. If NVIDIA moves first, then it will be quiet for a while before rival AMD has something to cope with, as its HD 8000 series are currently slated for release in Q4 2013.
