CES 2020 is leaving us some very interesting news, such as this AORUS 17, a family of laptops that threatens the gaming sector. Its specifications are really good and we want it to be on the market now. GIGABYTE has been evolving by leaps and bounds in the notebook sector. Will we be facing one of the best teams at CES 2020 in Las Vegas ?

Gigabyte AORUS 17: YA, XA, WA and SA

First of all, we would like to thank GIGABYTE for providing us with all the information in great detail so that we can give you more in-depth and transparent analysis.

We will have four main models whose specifications will vary. The different nomenclatures indicate the different ranges to which these AORUS will be directed:

NOW: extreme range. XA: high-end. WA: mid-range. SA: low-end

Mechanical switches are able to bounce quickly thanks to their short actuation points, making them a must for professional eSports players. We have worked with OMRON to create a lightweight laptop with a mechanical keyboard, as for the “Made in Japan” quality and increased durability.

In this way, the AORUS 17 laptops will be the first to incorporate these OMRON “switches” in the world. Note that they have a 2.5 mm travel and that each key has RGB lighting.

On the other hand, at GIGABYTE they have taken care of the audio, incorporating the ESS Saber HiFi Audio DAC. This is a point in their favor for those who play with HiFi headphones, but for those who do not wear "helmets":

The 4 models enable 3 storage systems:

Starting with the CPU, the AORUS YA will have two models with different chips: i9-9980HK and i7-9750H. The former can be overclocked at 5 GHz and the latter remains at 4.5 GHz.

In your case, it will have a 17.3-inch AUO screen with Full HD resolution and a refresh rate of 240 Hz. Say it incorporates anti-reflective technology.

As for the GPU, it will come with integrated Intel UHD 630 graphics (as in all models) and a dedicated 8GB Nvidia RTX 2080 GDDR6.

We lowered the range a bit to have only one model with a processor: the Intel Core i7-9750H, which can be carried up to 4.5 GHz. The screen is the same as the " NOW " screen, so nothing changes here.

In the graphic section, we do see changes: the team will come with an 8GB Nvidia RTX 2070 GDDR6.

WA

The specifications are still good, although we are dealing with a mid-range gaming team. Its only chip will be the Intel Core i7-9750H. On the other hand, its screen will be IPS, it will be made by LG, it will have 1080p resolution and it will have a refresh rate of 144 Hz.

This version will come with an Nvidia RTX 2060 GDDR6 with 6 GB of memory. Although the specifications are decreasing, we continue to choose a very powerful team.

SA

It is the nomenclature that refers to the lowest range of this AORUS 17 family. That said, it continues to equip the Intel Core i7-9750H and brings the same screen as the " WA " model.

However, the GPU is different, as it brings the Nvidia GTX 1660Ti GDDR6 6GB. We must not underestimate or underestimate this team because it still has a great processor, very interesting RAM and complete technology.
