Gigabyte Brix BSi5HT-6200 technical specifications

Unboxing and design

As we are used to, Gigabyte gives us a great presentation of its Brix S, specifically the Gigabyte Brix BSi5HT-6200 arrives in a black cardboard box with a picture of the product and in large letters the specific model. While in the rear area we have all the most important technical characteristics of the product.

Once we open it, we realize that it is perfectly protected and brings a wide range of accessories. We detail what it incorporates:

  • Gigabyte Brix BSi5HT-6200. External power supply and power cable for the wall for Spain and UK. Disk with software and drivers. Instruction manual and quick guide. Screws for installation to the built-in VESA bracket.

The Gigabyte Brix BSi5HT-6200 has dimensions of 46.8 mm x 112.6 mm x 119.4 mm and is so light that it does not exceed a kilogram with all its components mounted. As we can appreciate its really beautiful design, since in the upper area it has a brushed aluminum effect. What a surplus of art!

In addition to the screen printed logo in the upper area, we have a small button in the right corner, which is in charge of turning on and restarting the PC. Without a doubt, is it quite discreet?

On the front we find an Intel sticker, referring to the i5 processor that it incorporates, two USB 3.0 connections and one input plus sound output.

While on the left side we have grilles that improve air circulation inside the box, expelling it more quickly. When we look at the right side we find two USB 3.0 connections and an SD card reader. This design sounds familiar to us, right?

Without a doubt it is one of the most powerful miniPCs on the market and therefore has a wide range of possibilities in its connections. We have a Gigabit network connection, a mini-displayport connection, a USB 3.1 Type C connection, a Kensington security system, the power outlet and an HDMI connection.

In the rear area there is an identification sticker and four screws to disassemble the equipment. It also includes a set of screws and adapter to install VESA 75 x 75 and 100x x 100 monitors.

Once we remove them we are left with two parts: the rear area and the entire brix structure. What do we need to get the team up and running? At a minimum we need to install one or two 1.2V DDR4L RAM memory modules and a storage medium through M.2, SATA or USB connections.

It features an Intel i5 6200U processor based on Intel's dual-core Skylake architecture. Its manufacturing process is 14nm and it runs at frequencies of 2.3 GHz (base), with a turbo it goes up to 2.8 GHz and a TDP of 7.5W.

Among its connectivity, it has an Intel 3165MGW card for its Wifi 802.11 AC connection , which will allow us to get the most out of our latest generation router.

The team brings two expansion slots that allow us to install a maximum of 32 GB of DDR4L RAM at 1.2v. We recommend reading how to install DDR4 SODIMM memory in a laptop or miniPC.

WE RECOMMEND YOU Manufacturers of motherboards and graphics cards see a black future in 2019

We have installed two 8GB and 1.2V DDR4L modules as main memory and a 500GB Samsung EVO 850 SSD that we have in the test bench for these occasions. We have tested the machine with both Windows 10 and KODI (The new XBMC) and the results have been excellent in 1080p multimedia playback. In addition, the Intel HD 520 graphics card allows us to freely move our 4K resolution) to the same level as the i7 model), so we have a perfect computer to work and as HTPC.

Final words and conclusion about Gigabyte Brix BSi5HT-6200

The Gigabyte Brix BSi5HT-6200 is a miniPC with ridiculous dimensions but inside it is an Intel i5 Skylake processor, with the possibility of adding 32 GB DDR4L, an M.2 disk and a SATA III disk for storage. We have a great fit that fits in the palm of one hand.

In our tests we have seen that its performance is very close to the Gigabyte Brix i7 model that we analyzed not long ago. In addition, its low TDP allows us to have the equipment at rest with just 7 W and full power at 12 W.

Another of its strengths is the incorporation of USB 3.0, USB 3.0 Type-C connections, miniDisplayport, HDMI, LAN and an excellent cooling system. It is quite a pass.

Currently we can find in online stores for a price of 409 euros with immediate availability. Did you like it as much as we do? Leave us your opinion.
