Many of us love custom loops. But when it comes to simplicity, we're thrilled when we see manufacturers unveil graphics cards that come with a factory-installed water block, as announced today with the Gigabyte RTX 2080 Super Gaming OC WaterForce.

Gigabyte Launches RTX 2080 with Custom Water Block

The liquid cooling block that comes in the new Gigabyte card has a totally different design than what you would get from a manufacturer specialized in liquid cooling, and clearly has a style much more in line with the Gigabyte image. Gigabyte's new offering seems quite stylish, especially with the way RGB lighting is implemented.

The block cools the GPU, memory, and VRM circuits. It comes with standard G1 / 4 ″ threads for accessories, so it should fit directly into any standard liquid cooling system that we are using.

As for the specifications , the GPU has a 1, 845 MHz turbo clock, that is, only 30 MHz above the reference specification. The 8 GB of GDDR6 memory runs at 15.5 GHz. For VRM circuits, Gigabyte equipped the card with 12 + 2 phase power delivery, which when combined with a large liquid loop should provide ample stability and a good overclocking margin, in theory.

At the time of writing this article, Gigabyte has not yet announced availability or price, but it is reasonable to think that an embedded water block will have its extra cost compared to other traditional models of the RTX 2080. However, we hope that it will still be cheaper than buying a graphics card with traditional cooling and then replacing it with a block of water. We will keep you informed.
