The motherboard manufacturer Gigabyte has announced what will be its new motherboard for AM4: the B450I Aorus Pro WiFi with Mini-ITX format. Let's meet her

B450I Aorus Pro WiFi, mid-range mini-ITX motherboard

The new board uses the B450 chipset and AM4 socket, so it supports 1st and 2nd generation Ryzen processors, including the 2200G and 2400G APUs. It will also support new Ryzen in the future, through BIOS updates.

This board has 6 power phases in a 4 + 2 configuration, with a dissipation that does not seem very advanced but that could be sufficient for such a configuration.

The WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity are remarkable and something very positive for certain users, while those who use Ethernet have a Gigabit port supported by an Intel network card. Other aspects of connectivity are the 4 SATA ports, 2 USB 3.1 Gen2 (Type A), 4 USB 3.1 Gen1, plus audio connections and DisplayPort 1.2 and 2 HDMI 2.0 for users who mount a Ryzen APU.

The board has a single PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, allowing the installation of any graphics card up to the high-end, and an M.2 slot with a metal sink included, which is very good news.

We finish talking about the expected inclusion of only 2 DIMM slots and not 4, due to space reasons. We take this opportunity to indicate that you should occupy both slots with dual channel, even if you plan future updates. This especially with APUs since it has a great influence on the performance of integrated graphics.

Any mini-ITX motherboard that comes onto the market is very welcome, since in this format there is usually little variety, and the appearance of new players encourages positive competition for all. In this case, it seems like a fairly decent mid-range option is presented.

We do not know the availability and price of this motherboard, but hopefully it will be somewhat tight.
