With the arrival of Intel Broadwell-E around the corner, the main manufacturers of motherboards are rushing to receive the new processors in the best possible way. Gigabyte shows three new X99 boards so you have no excuse not to switch to the new high-performance platform from Intel.
Gigabyte shows off three new X99 boards that will delight Broadwell-E users
The new Gigabyte X99-Designare EX, X99 Phoenix SLI G1 and X99 Ultra Gaming motherboards are based on a design similar to the Gigabyte Z170 and include numerous improvements including M.2 32 Gb / s slots, U.2 slots and Reinforced PCI-E ports to better support the heavy weight of high-end graphics cards. We also find in some cases reinforced slots for RAM and USB 3.1 ports.
Let's take a closer look at each new board, the X99-Designare EX includes five PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots and two U.2 ports for NVMe SSDs. The X99 Phoenix SLI G1 is shown as a smaller version with four PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots, wireless network, and only one U.2 connector. Finally the X99 Ultra Gaming which is a version of the previous one but without the wireless network and with the reinforced DDR4 DIMM slots.
