A mouse with excellent OMRON switches, a highly accurate sensor, an ergonomic body to hold it in your hand for long sessions without fatigue, and an RGB LED lighting system. The Gigabyte XM300 mouse comes to us in a cardboard box of contained dimensions for what we usually see in this type of product, as we see in the photos the color black predominates although we also see a few touches of orange for a color scheme that corresponds to the Xtreme Gaming range, the same ones found in the body of the mouse and its cable. The box has a large window so that we can appreciate the product before going through the box, a detail that only the largest brands usually offer. When opening the window we can also see the main characteristics of the mouse that we will delve into later.

We park the box and turn to look at the mouse itself. We are facing one of the best gaming mice on the market as its main characteristics demonstrate. The Gigabyte XM300 mounts a high-quality Pixart 3988 optical sensor with a maximum resolution of 6, 400 DPI. This sensor offers us the possibility of adjusting the PPP in values from 50 to 50, so it will be able to adjust to a multitude of usage scenarios, from strategy games that require a low PPP value to multi-monitor configurations in which more PPP is needed. Sensor features are rounded out with up to 200-inch-per-second tracking and 50g acceleration.

We have a braided cable for great resistance and with a black finish that maintains the aesthetics of the mouse. The Gigabyte XM300 offers us once again a design taken care of down to the last detail, this young brand shows us that it takes great care in its products to try to always offer an extra against the competition.

The Gigabyte XM300 has dimensions of 130.0 x 60.0 x 43.0 mm along with a weight of 101 grams, so we are in front of a fairly compact and light mouse. In this sense, its weight will provide us with great speed when sliding it across the surface of our mat for very fast movements in the most demanding games such as first person shooting. The Gigabyte XM300 is based on an ambidextrous design that will adapt very well to the hands of all users, both right-handed and left-handed, although it is more intended for right-handed users.

The body of the mouse is made of high quality black plastic, it is a classic design that provides a very good balance between attractive aesthetics and that will appeal to all users. The wheel is also made in black and offers excellent performance with very precise movements both on short and long distances, the grip on the finger is also very good.

Accompanying the wheel are two buttons that will allow us to adjust the sensor's DPI level on the fly and at preset values of 800/1600/2400/3200 DPI to adapt to the preferences of a large number of users. A high DPI value allows us to make a great tour with a very small movement of the mouse so it will be especially suitable for multi-monitor configurations. In contrast, low DPI values will be ideal in games where high precision of movement is required.

Of course at the top we find the two main buttons that this time have the acclaimed Japanese OMRON mechanisms that are characterized by their tremendous quality and ensure at least 20 million keystrokes. Gigabyte has conceived the XM300 as a mouse of enormous quality that has been thought to offer the user great durability. The two buttons are slightly curved to offer a much more comfortable grip and are perfectly accessible to the fingers without any effort. On the back we find the logo of the brand that this time is part of the lighting system.

On the left side we find two programmable buttons that will serve us to carry out all kinds of tasks, although perhaps its most typical function for most users will be to go back and forth in web browsing in a very comfortable way. Its touch is pleasant and they are quite hard so they give us a good quality feeling and they will not break in a short time. We also find four small LEDs that serve as an indicator of the selected PPP mode. The right side is completely free.

At the bottom we find the Pixart 3988 optical sensor that we mentioned before and its high-quality Teflon surfers for a very precise displacement.

At the end of the 1.8 meter USB cable we find the USB connector of a fairly large size and gold plated for better conservation over time and better contact.

In order to get the most out of the Gigabyte XM300 mouse we need to install its corresponding software, we can download it from the manufacturer's official website, once downloaded, its installation is extremely easy. We open the software and first of all we see the possibility of creating up to five different profiles to always have our mouse ready for different situations of use, something that is highly appreciated. Through the software we can assign the functions that we want to its seven programmable buttons in a very simple and intuitive way.

The first section of the software offers us the possibility of configuring the lighting of the mouse in intensity, light effect (breathing or continuous) and the speed in case we choose the breathing mode. Being an RGB system we can configure it in a total of 16.8 million colors to give it a very attractive and personalized touch.

The second section corresponds to the functions of its seven programmable buttons. In this section we have great customization possibilities for our mouse since we can configure all the different functions of a mouse, in addition to many others such as multimedia functions, macros and even assign characters to the buttons so that we can enter a letter, a symbol or a number among others in a very simple way, this is great for people who work with characters that are not easily accessible on a Spanish keyboard, a good example of the German character ß.

The third section of the software corresponds to a complete and powerful macro engine that includes such advanced functions as controlling the delay time of a pulsation, and different speeds and loops, among many others. Big fans of macros will feel very comfortable with this mouse.

The best mice on the market make the difference and without a doubt this XM300 does it very well. The Gigabyte XM300 is a very ergonomic mouse that provides great comfort in the hand to avoid fatigue in prolonged use.

If ergonomics is at the highest level, so is its Pixart 3988 sensor, let's not be fooled by its 6, 400 PPP value, which may seem a little low. It is one of the best sensors with sensational precision and impeccable performance, this mouse shows that the exaggerated PPP values are usually just marketing and that a 16, 000 PPP sensor does not have to be the best on the market. Its buttons are of a high quality and the Omron mechanisms assure you that they will last a long time.
