For more than a year, Gmail users on Android have been able to enjoy a series of actions by swiping an email that iOS users have lacked. Now, finally, Google incorporates this feature to Gmail for iPhone and iPad, making managing your emails easier, faster and more agile.

Gmail for iOS, now with options when swiping

Large numbers of people have preferred Gmail as their primary email provider. For this reason, many users also opt for the Gmail application to manage their mail, including many iOS users. However, until now, the latter had a significant disadvantage compared to Android users.

Recently, Gmail for iOS has been updated, and with that update, you have received new options by sliding the screen left or right on an email.

Previously, the only existing option in Gmail for iOS when sliding your finger on the screen was to delete that email in question. With the new version, it is now possible to carry out additional actions such as marking an email as read or unread, moving the email to another folder, archiving the email or deleting the email.

Ah! And you can customize these actions to your liking from Settings > Swipe Actions in the Gmail app.

Support for other actions has also been included. For example, you can postpone an email by firm pressure on the screen (if your iPhone has 3D Touch) or by long-pressing it. This will activate the "Snooze" function and, after clicking on it, you can choose the date and time for this email.

These features, which have been around many email managers for years, will undoubtedly help users better organize their messages, while facilitating that ideal goal of keeping your inbox clean.
