Table of contents:
Android is the operating system most affected by malicious applications. From time to time, malware or viruses that affect these devices appear. Google has been looking for solutions for a long time to reduce this type of applications as much as possible and protect users. They don't seem to have worked so far, though.
Google adds a panic mode in Android 7.1. Nougat
Now it seems they have found a way to do it. Since a so- called panic mode has been silently introduced in Android 7.1. Nougat. Thanks to this mode we can expel users of applications with bad intentions.
Android 7.1 panic mode. Nougat
It has been introduced without prior notice to the surprise of users. This panic mode is a security and protection measure. It consists of detecting how many times a user presses the back button in a given space. If the user presses the button many times, the system detects that it has entered panic mode. So it will be the system itself that expels the app and takes them to the home screen. So that the user is in a safe situation again.
This method can be extremely useful when a malicious application takes control of the screen and prevents the user from exiting the application. In this way, the user could regain control and remove the application as quickly as possible. And thus avoid major problems.
Many are surprised that Google did not announce this panic mode in the Android 7.1.1 update. Nougat, although there may be a reason behind it. Mainly that by not making any announcements, they can more effectively detect malicious applications in Google Play. What do you think of this new function introduced by Google?
