Google Assistant was announced last month and is one of the key pieces of the Allo instant messaging client and the new Google Pixel phone. Even so, the Mountain View company is not happy with what the assistant offers that today replaces Google Now.

External developers can tinker with Google Assistant

It is for this reason that Google has wanted to open the development of Google Assistant so that developers outside of Google can make changes and improvements to the assistant without limitations.

The possibility that external developers can work to improve Google Assistant will start in December. This means that any company will be able to adapt Google Assistant to its products and make them compatible.

The idea is that the Google assistant begins to gain relevance and that it is the external developers that take full advantage of it.

On the other hand, the assistant is still begging for Spanish-speaking users. Google Assistant still doesn't work in Spanish and there isn't even a tentative date for this to happen. It is very likely that Google completely ignores the situation and leaves it to external developers to be in charge of bringing the assistant closer to users of the Cervantes language. The latter are mere assumptions but it is not normal that a phone with Google Pixel is not sold in Spain and Latin America.
