The guys at Google have decided to take a step forward to end piracy, so they have decided to block pirated content on Google Drive. Basically, it prevents you from sharing pirated files with other users, in order to avoid this type of practice forever. Until now, I didn't pay attention to what we shared, but the tables have turned.

Over the years, and especially in the last year, more and more cloud services are taking into account what we upload and share. It is clear that if everyone agrees, it could mean the end of piracy… but Google, today took an important step in its Google Drive service, and it was the guys from TorrentFreak who realized it.

Google blocks pirated content on Google Drive

Until now Google allowed you to share any type of file through a link without paste (as long as you did not exceed the download limit). But what happened was over, because now they have a hash arrest to avoid pirated content.

As we told you, a TorrentFreak user uploaded a pirated movie to Drive (as we suppose he had done on other occasions), but this time, at the moment the user wanted to share the link for another user to download it Google issued an alert that it was violating the terms and conditions of use. The image in question, you can see below:

It is clear that Google has introduced a hash filter to avoid this type of practice, and it is already operational at the moment. You can try your luck to see if you can strain it, but it will be difficult.

It should be noted that at the moment Google does not prevent pirated files from being uploaded to Drive, but they are shared.

What do you think about the new? What do you think?
