Google works on independent augmented reality glasses

Google has spent a long time betting heavily on augmented reality. Something that has been made clear with a project like ARCore, which focuses on bringing it to Android phones. Although the company's plans go further. Because it has been revealed that they are already working on independent augmented reality glasses. A project in which they collaborate with the Taiwanese manufacturer Qanta.

It is a project that is currently under development. So far the name of the glasses is Google A65, although it is a code name for it.

They would be independent glasses that do not need to be connected to a phone or television to function. In addition, it is expected that they will have a Qualcomm processor, specially developed for them. So without a doubt Google is betting on quality in this regard. These augmented reality glasses would also include a proprietary graphics processing unit and headphones.

The collaboration is taking place with Qanta, who are also responsible for making the Pixel. So it is a firm with which they have previously collaborated. Now they do it in the segment of augmented reality.

So far, it is not known how the design of these Google glasses will be, nor are their specifications known. We know that they are currently being developed, so more details will surely be revealed over the weeks. Upon its launch, it is estimated later this year or in 2019.
