Although CES has not yet officially started, many brands are already starting to announce new products that will be shown at the fair. In this case, we are talking about the HP EliteDisplay E243p monitor, with an interesting layer of privacy.

HP EliteDisplay E243P - Physical privacy layer that minimizes viewing angles

The main feature of this monitor is the existence of a privacy layer that basically physically prevents the screen content from being seen from the sides. The brand has baptized this technology with the name "Sure View", although it is not the first time that similar implementations have been seen on many monitors (you can even buy these layers separately in some cases).

The effect is achieved by using HP's proprietary technologies in addition to 3M optical films. When Sure View is activated, the screen reduces its brightness to 180 nits and horizontal viewing angles to 80º, hiding sensitive data that may be showing from "curious eyes".

As expected, this feature is not especially interesting for home users, but for business users , in sectors and applications where the theft of information through this route is possible, such as in the military, finance, security...

In regards to the other features, we find a fairly standard IPS monitor, which does not stand out at all. It has a 23.8-inch IPS panel and 1080p resolution, maximum brightness of 260 nits, contrast 1000: 1, refresh rate of 60 Hz… In summary, characteristics of monitors of 100-150 euros. It does not have adjustable height, although it does have enough connections (1 DisplayPort 1.2, 1 HDMI 1.4, 1 D-Sub, 2 USB 3.0).

This monitor will be available in February at a recommended price of $ 380. Indeed, it is quite high considering the characteristics of the monitor, and in any case it is up to potential buyers to decide whether it is reasonable to pay the premium for this privacy filter.
