The world of Virtual Reality is maturing rapidly and we see more and more polished and efficient models in almost every way. Today we will tell you what is to come from one of the pioneering companies in the field, since the HTC Vive Cosmos is already on the way.

Just a few days ago, the company specialized in technology revealed new information about this device and the truth is that it is not bad at all. Already since his show at CES 2019 , great things were expected of him, since great improvements were promised.

The HTC Vive Cosmos are now available for reservation

The first thing that can be highlighted by looking at its specifications and appearance is a lower weight, a modular structure and a more elegant and attractive appearance. However, the HTC Vive Cosmos have more to impress you.

We will have an advanced tracking system to accurately analyze the user's position. It consists mainly of 6 cameras distributed throughout the body of the device, a G-sensor and a gyroscope.

Regarding the controls, they will abandon the elongated and "sword" design and opt for a smaller and more secure one similar to a bracelet. As a negative point, we have to highlight that they will be batteries and we will not be able to recharge them in any way.

On the other hand, we will have a pair of 3.4 ″ RGB LCD screens at a resolution of 1440 x 1700 (slightly higher than previous models) . Its refresh rate will be 90 Hz and it will have a field of view of 110º, so there is no improvement here. Regarding the lenses used, there has been no official information, but it seems that they will continue to use the Fresnel of previous models.

For connections, it will connect to the PC using a DisplayPort 1.2 cable and USB 3.0 . However, we can also choose a wireless connection thanks to a special adapter made by HTC .

Finally, the mods section will be something that will keep the device fresh over the years. The first extension in existence is expected to arrive in early 2020 for just under € 200 and allow HTC Vive Cosmos to run on SteamVR technology.

The Virtual Reality device will be released on October 3 for a base price of $ 699 . However, you can book it now on its official website.
