While the Huawei P20 is a bestseller in Europe, the Chinese manufacturer wants to continue expanding its market and its catalog of technological products. Recently, a patent has revealed to us that Huawei would be working on a 'gaming' watch, which would join the madness of 'gaming' phones.

Huawei patents a 'Gaming' watch with a built-in camera

Huawei has received a patent for a 'smartwatch' watch specially designed for gamers, as revealed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The application initially filed in December 2017, is following previous patents filed with the China Intellectual Property Office dating back to 2015.

The patent discloses different types of movements and gestures - bumps, slides, pulses, turns, jerks, and other movements. All actions can also mean something different, depending on whether the watch is oriented horizontally or vertically. The device could be used in racing games, being able to control the vehicle with simple gestures.

Apparently, the Hauwei watch would have a built-in camera, which would allow us to have menu selection functions without depending on peripherals, or other functions, such as zooming in or out, selecting text, etc.

Razer, ZTE and Xiaomi have already decided to develop a 'gaming' smartphone and it seems that in the future it will be the turn of watches. A gaming smartwatch could be the start of a whole new niche if the patent ever reaches a commercial device. What do you think?
