Rumors about Huawei's operating system started this week. The Chinese brand will launch its operating system in the fall, due to the United States blockade that makes it impossible to use Android. There have been rumors about the name they are going to use, and two names are mostly considered: Kirin OS and HongMeng OS. Although the company had not confirmed anything until now.

Chosen name

HongMeng OS sounds kind of weird to many users, especially outside of China. Although Huawei has chosen something that seems to have a meaning related to the mythology of the Asian country. In this sense, the manufacturer would seek to symbolize the beginning of a new stage, after the chaos and problems experienced in recent times. A code name therefore in this sense.
