Google is still working on Fucshia OS today, with a view to the future. It is speculated that this operating system is going to be the future substitute for Android. Although so far only tests have been done on tablets and computers, where the results seem satisfactory. But the first test has already been done on a phone. Honor Play has been chosen.

Huawei tests Fuchsia OS on Honor Play

Google wants this system to replace Android and Chrome OS, in a period of about five years. So the fact that they are already testing is a clear sign that the plans are going ahead.

Testing with Fuchsia OS

The Huawei Kirin 970 have been adapted to Zircon, the Fuchsia OS kernel, so that these tests could be carried out on the Chinese brand's Honor Play. One of the most powerful gaming phones in its catalog, and which has been on sale in Spain for a while. In addition, it is expected that soon there will be more phones in the brand's catalog to do the same tests.

All Huawei phones that make use of Kirin 970 will go through the same tests and will have access to Fuchsia OS in this way. So the Chinese manufacturer becomes the first to carry this type of tests on their smartphones.

If Google plans to replace Android and Chrome OS in about five years, it is not surprising that tests are already underway. We will see if there are more smartphone brands that join them, and the results that are obtained. In the case of Huawei, they seem positive, although the speed should improve.
