One of the world's leading smartphone manufacturers, Huawei, is working on developing its own mobile operating system as a future alternative to the almighty Android. The Chinese firm has no intention of severing its relationship with Google but wants to be as well prepared as possible for the future.

Huawei wants to have an alternative to Android

Currently we find three mobile operating systems, one of them is Windows 10 Mobile, which is in free fall and barely holds up in the market. The other two are logically Android and iOS, the second of them only available on Apple devices so Android has almost a monopoly, something that gives Google a lot of power.

Huawei does not like the idea of having to depend on the demands of Google so it works on creating its own operating system in case those of Mountain View give up on starting to put great demands on the use of Android.

Huawei does not think, for now, about cutting its relationship with Android but if it wants to have a plan B before a change in the demands of the almighty Google. Huawei's operating system is in a very early phase of its development involving numerous former Nokia engineers, talent is not exactly something that the group behind the Chinese firm's OS lacks.

Most likely, we will never see Huawei's new operating system on the market, but the manufacturer wants to be as well prepared as possible for what the future may hold. The firm is also working on a new version of its EMUI layer that will arrive in the most important terminals in the fall.
