ID-Cooling introduced the IS-50X, a low-profile CPU cooler capable of handling thermal loads of up to 130W, with a height of only 75mm. The refrigerator has a “Type C” heatsink design.

ID-Cooling IS-50X seems ideal for compact PCs

The ID-Cooling IS-50X implements five 6mm-thick nickel-plated copper tubes, which make direct contact with the CPU at the base and guide heat through a stack of aluminum fins arranged along the plane of the motherboard. As we can see, the arrangement of the aluminum block is somewhat asymmetric, and thinner along the periphery, to offer free space to the memory of the motherboard and the VRM areas of the CPU.

With its low height, the IS-50X refrigerator seems ideal for compact equipment that requires components that take up as little space as possible.

The fan used is about 120mm with 15mm thickness. This fan rotates between 600 and 1, 600 RPM, pushing up to 53.6 CFM of air. The noise generated by the fan ranges from 13.8 to 30.2 dBA depending on speed. Measuring in at 122mm x 120mm x 75mm (with the fan installed), the refrigerator weighs just 385 grams.

As expected, the ID-Cooling IS-50X is compatible with those modern Intel LGA115x motherboards and AM4, AM3 (+) and FM2 (+) from AMD. The company did not disclose the price it will have. We will keep you informed.
