Intel announces a PC compute card the size of a credit card

Anonim

The miniaturization of computer equipment is advancing by leaps and bounds, good proof of this is the new Intel Compute Card, a small computer with dimensions of 55 x 95 x 5 mm that make it almost as small as a credit card.

The Intel Compute Card has the mission of making all the devices around us smart, this small computer hides inside an advanced Kaby Lake processor and some unknown remaining specifications of which not a single detail has been given. This device will be inserted into special readers that will also provide you with the necessary energy to function properly. The uses of the Intel Compute Card are very wide ranging from monitors, robots, drones, routers and many more devices that can benefit from artificial intelligence.

Once the Compute Card is inserted, a security locking mechanism is activated that will prevent it from being removed except under specific circumstances. Intel is already working with manufacturers like Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Sharp to create new devices with the slots necessary for the operation of its new invention. The most disappointing thing is that it is a product focused on companies, so we will not see it in regular stores.
