As expected, Intel has officially announced its new low-power Apollo Lake platform, the new family of Intel Atom processors based on a revamped CPU and GPU architecture to improve performance while improving energy efficiency.
Intel Apollo Lake technical features
The new Apollo Lake processors are built on Intel's advanced 14nm Tri-Gate process to achieve unattainable power efficiency for rivals in the x86 processor market. These new Atom processors use the same graphics architecture found in Skylake, for superior performance, and their x86 cores use the new Goldmond microarchitecture. With these changes an increase in power is achieved while reducing its energy consumption and the heat generated.

These new low-power processors from Intel point ways, however, exact pricing and models have yet to be announced but will arrive in the second half of 2016.
