Intel is already preparing for the update of its low-power platform in the second half of 2016. The new Intel Apolo Bay processors will arrive in the second half of the year to succeed the current Cherry Trail.
New Intel Apolo Bay with Goldmond architecture
The new Intel Apolo Bay processors will be based on the " Goldmont " microarchitecture manufactured in the same 14nm process as the current "Airmont" based Cherry Trail. This new architecture will include numerous optimizations aimed at improving both its CPU and graphics performance while improving energy efficiency.
Intel's new processors will bring new compact and low-cost computers to life as well as entry-level notebooks with improved autonomy thanks to the low power consumption of the new chips.
