It's no secret that coronavirus is wreaking havoc on tech industry supply chains, and after almost all tech events were canceled or delayed in some way, it wouldn't be surprising to see delayed product launches as well, such as case of the Intel Core 'Comet Lake' processors.

Intel Comet Lake: Reports point to June release due to coronavirus

The next desktop CPUs for Intel's 10th generation, the Comet Lake generation, may not launch until June.

We recently saw an i5-10400 photographed and with a press release embargo ranging from April 13 to June 26, 2020.

Assuming this is a legitimate slide, it tells us that there is no embargo date set for the chip's release yet. So far, many rumors have pointed to the April or May release dates, but it seems like that may not happen.

With the coronavirus outbreak causing supply chain problems, it wouldn't make sense that Intel will launch its new CPUs if its partners aren't able to produce the motherboards to support the chips.

However, we have to consider a more likely alternative. April 13 could be the day that Intel will make the general presentation of the chips, proceeding to announce the CPU lineup between that day and June 26, each with its own specific embargo date.

In any case, we could consider that Intel Comet Lake processors are already a bit 'late' to fight against Ryzen 3000 in the market, so a launch in June would only worsen Intel's situation in the CPU market of desk. We will keep you informed.
