Intel Kaby Lake will be the new processors led by the Core i7 7700K that arrive to succeed the current Skylake, they will be manufactured in the same process of 14nm Tri-Gate so they are an optimized version of the current Skylake before the Cannonlake delay until 2017.

Core i7 7700K pre-release specifications

Kaby Lake's flagship processor will be the Core i7 7700K that will arrive with the usual four physical cores with HT technology to handle up to 8 threads of data. Its four cores will run at a base frequency of 3.6 GHz that will go up to 4.2 GHz in turbo mode for increased performance. The rest of its specifications include 8 MB of L3 cache and 256 Kb of L2 cache along with a 4 GHz internal memory controller.

We now look at the integrated GPU made up of 24 EUs at a frequency of 1, 150 MHz that will offer better performance than the Core i7 6700K graphics processor with greater energy efficiency. The processor TDP may be lower due to the greater maturity of the manufacturing process used.

It is very likely that the specifications of the Core i7 7700K will be improved for its final version, so we could see it with higher operating frequencies. It will be compatible with LGA 1151 motherboards with 100 and 200 series chipsets.

Kaby Lake also reaches low-power processors

In addition to the high-performance processors led by the Core i7 7700K, Kaby Lake will also encompass other chips with more moderate performance but higher energy efficiency.

Among them we find the Core i7 7500U formed by two cores with HT at frequencies of 2.7 GHz / 2.9 GHz, 4 MB of L3 cache, 512 KB of L2 cache and memory controller compatible with DDR3L, DDR4L and LPDDR4. We continue with the ultra low consumption Core M7-7Y75 with two cores with HT and a TDP of only 4.5W which makes it ideal for the tablet sector.
