The next generation of Intel Ice Lake processors are near and the data on this one is already running across the web. Recently, Intel has released some synthetic tests on its new processors and its data is quite positive.

Intel Ice Lake

The US company has unraveled some of the data from its new Intel Ice Lake processors , which they pack into "Sunny Cove" cores .

As we can see, in the best case, the new line presents up to a 40% improvement over Skylake , although the average speed-up is 18%. On the other hand, we must highlight that there is a specific case where the results not only do not improve, but worsens slightly.

These results have been obtained after passing numerous synthetic tests among which we find SPEC 2016, SPEC 2017, SYSMark 2014 SE, WebXprt and CineBench R15. The comparison with Skylake is very relevant, since Intel has been using the same cores for the last three generations (Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake and Sky Lake).

On the other hand, a user of a Chinese forum with access to a 6-core, 12-thread Ice Lake processor has performed internal CPU-Z tests (version 17.01). With this processor configured at 3.6GHz , the processor achieved a score of 635 points.

Above we have an image where they order the powers of different processors where we can also differentiate the frequencies. To achieve similar results, the Ryzen 7 3800X Matisse needs to raise its frequency to 4.7GHz, and the Intel i7-7700k must raise the bar to 5.2GHz.

We won't have Intel Ice Lake processors until 2020 , however, we will be able to see some 4-core and 8-wire versions on some ultrabooks and lightweight laptops by the end of 2019 . Intel's future seems to be improving, although we will have to wait until we have them in our hands to get real analyzes.

And you, what do you think about the future of Intel? Are you waiting for the new Intel Ice Lake processors?
