Anonim

According to the latest rumors, at the end of this year the new top-of-the-range Intel microprocessors are expected: Ivy Bridge-E HEDT (High-End DeskTop), the successors of the current second-generation Core Extreme Sandy Bridge-E.

The new Core i7-4900 / 4800 Series “Ivy Bridge-E” microprocessors will maintain full compatibility with the current 2011 LGA socket motherboards based on the “Patsburg” X79 chipset, as long as the motherboard manufacturer provides a compatible bios Express for new microprocessors.

But although there will be backward compatibility, Intel plans to launch a new chipset called X99, which at the moment is unknown if it is the successor to the X79 "Patsburg" chipset, or if it will be the future chipset for the fourth-grade Core Extreme CPUs. “Haswell-E” generation whose code name is Wellsburg.

At the moment the improvements that this new chipset from Intel will incorporate are unknown.
