Intel 'Ponte Vecchio' is the name of a new company Xe GPU
Intel's Xe-based 7nm Ponte Vecchio 7GPUs will appear in Project Aurora, a large-scale supercomputer from Intel expected to be active in 2021.
Videocardz claims that up to six Ponte Vecchio GPUs will be used in a future large-scale supercomputer called Aurora alongside two Sapphire Rapids Xeon processors. The GPUs will be connected via CXL (Compute Express Link) with a OneAPI software stack. The leak further indicates that the Ponte Vecchio GPUs will use 3D Foveros technology in conjunction with CXL. Intel's Ponte Vecchio GPU will also have dual-precision FP processing performance. The company also mentioned all the other segments in which the Xe GPUs will operate, including HPC / Exascale, DL / Training, Cloud GFX, Media Transcore Analytics, Workstation, Gaming, PC Mobile and Ultra Mobile. Intel is said to be planning to reveal more details about its upcoming 7nm 'Ponte Vecchio' based Xe GPU on November 17.
