We continue talking about Intel, this time it is the new Coffee Lake-U processors, which offer sensational benefits with a power consumption of only 28W and Iris Plus graphics.
New Coffee Lake-U with Intel Iris Plus 650 graphics
The new Intel Core i3-8109U, Core i5-8259U, Core i5-8269U and Core i7-8559U processors are all based on powerful Intel Iris Plus 650 integrated graphics, which are backed by a 128MB eDRAM L4 cache, that manages to offer a large bandwidth. This integrated GPU is made up of 48 EUs at a maximum frequency of 1.1 GHz, which should put AMD Raven Ridge Mobile processors without a high-speed L4 cache in serious trouble.

The differences between these processors are in the CPU part, the Core i3-8109U is the humblest of all with 2 cores and 4 threads. On the other hand, the Core i5-8259U, Core i5-8269U and Core i7-8559U offer four cores and 8 threads. All of them have a low TDP of 28W and support DDR4 memory at 2400 MHz in dual channel configuration. These low-power processors offer four PCIe Gen3 lanes for integrated graphics, SATA 6 Gbps ports, and USB 3.1 Gen2.
Thanks to these new Coffee Lake-U processors, a new generation of very powerful and light notebooks will be possible, as well as high-performance mini PCs. They are expected to be used in the new 13-inch MacBook pro.
