Intel threat detection, new technology for threat detection accelerated by igpu

Intel has announced its new technology Intel Threat Detection (Intel TDT), it is a set of capabilities at the silicon level, which will help detect new classes of threats, and Intel Security Essentials, a framework that standardizes the security functions integrated in the company's processors.

Intel Threat Detection and Intel Security Essentials, a new step forward in security

Intel Threat Detection technology leverages silicon-level telemetry and functionality to help the industry improve detection of cyber attacks and advanced exploits. The first new capability is "Accelerated Memory Scan, " which is driven by Intel's integrated graphics processor, which enables more scans and reduces the impact on performance and power consumption. Early benchmarks show that CPU utilization fell from 20 percent to just 2 percent.

The second technology is Intel Advanced Platform Telemetry that combines platform telemetry with machine learning algorithms to improve detection of advanced threats, while reducing false positives and minimizing performance impact. The first product to take advantage of this integration will be the Cisco Tetration platform, which provides security for data centers and protection of workload in the cloud.

This standard set of capabilities will accelerate reliable computing as customers build solutions based on hardware-based protections. Additionally, these capabilities, integrated directly into Intel's silicon, are designed to improve IT security posture, reduce the cost of implementing security solutions, and minimize the impact of security on performance.
