Two months ago, Kingmax announced its entry-level PJ3280 PCIe 3 × 2 SSD. Now they are following it with an option of greater capacity and speed with the Zeus PX3480.

Kingmax Zeus PX3480 comes in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB capacities

This SSD shares the same M.2 2280 form factor, compatible with most modern systems that support the NVMe 1.3 protocol. Being in M.2 format, it also saves space, since it does not require cables for use. It simply mounts into an available slot that accepts an M.2 2280 form factor and you're good to go.

In terms of capacity, users can choose between the 256GB, 512GB and 1TB models. Kingmax ensures that read performance on the 1TB model reaches 3400MB / s, with a write speed of up to 3000MB / s.

Understandably, lower capacity versions have lower write speeds. Although its read speeds are close to the 1TB version. The 512GB version, for example, achieves read speeds of up to 3400MB / s and write speeds of up to 1950MB / s. Meanwhile, the lower capacity 256GB version operates up to 3000MB / s read and up to 1000MB / s write. Although the write speed is close to that of the faster 512GB PJ3280 model, the read speed is almost twice as fast.

The MTBF rate is up to 2 million hours and each unit is guaranteed for 3 years. Its official price was not disclosed in this announcement.
