Kingston HyperX Savage DDR4

Kingston dares with a simple presentation, using a plastic blister and a seal that will tell us if the memories have been opened. On the sticker we have all the information we need to know: model, total memory size, voltage and a QR that will forward us to the official website. To me, these types of practical presentations that save marketing costs seem great to me.

As we have mentioned, we have a pack of two DDR4 modules of 8GB each, which make a total of 16GB at 3000 Mhz and CL15-16-16-36 latency. X with XMP 2.0 support and compatibility with Intel Haswell-E (LGA 2011-3) and Skylake Z170 (LGA 1151). It is currently available in black with frequencies from 2, 133 mhz to 3, 000 Mhz and packs up to 128GB.

It comes very well accompanied with a die-cut aluminum heatsink that allows excellent cooling. Its design is asymmetrical and its finishes resemble the diamond cut. In our tests it has barely warmed up with the 3000 Mhz activated under XMP.

One of its great advantages over other ram memories is its low profile design. This allows us to install on base plates and boxes with reduced space regardless of the heatsink. It is also very interesting in billet heatsinks like the Noctua NH-D15 that need low profile memories, and these offer us maximum speed with an ideal design.

Final words and conclusion

Kingston has done a great job with its new HyperX Savage series in DDR4 format. It fulfills the purpose of any professional and gamer user. Among its features we find high speeds of 3000 mhz and low voltage throughout the range.

In our test bench it has shown its excellent performance and that it is up to the high ranges. Also remember that it is fully compatible with the X99 (Quad Channel) and the recent Z170 (Dual Channel) chipset.

In short, if you are looking for cheap memories, with excellent cooling and low profile. The Kingston HyperX is one of the best options on the market.
