Material Design continues to gain presence in Google applications. The last one to update is the Telephone application. These days the update of the application has been confirmed, with a new design. Thanks to this change we find a design that follows the principles of Material Design at all times, with a most intuitive user interface.

This is version 23 of the application. We are facing what is possibly its biggest change so far in terms of design. So this is a moment of importance.

Material Design advances

What we can see in the application is that the design becomes much cleaner. The application becomes completely white, something that is generating mixed opinions. Since they do not always like them, and colors are one of the keys to Material. Although it is possible that in future updates the application will reintroduce some color, we do not know.

Other less striking aesthetic changes are the more rounded corners, and that some icons now appear elsewhere. These are notable changes, although they should not alter the usability of the Google Phone app at any time.

It is expected that from this week it will reach the Pixel, Nexus and Android One phones. The rest of users are going to have to wait a little longer for this new version of the application to arrive officially. But the wait shouldn't be too long.
