AMD CEO Lisa Su confirmed yesterday that the gaming-oriented RX Vega series graphics cards will be released shortly after the Frontier Edition. This information was unveiled during the JP Morgan Annual Conference on Global Technology, Media and Telecommunications.

Lisa Su also presented some additional details about AMD's long-term roadmap, although overall it was the same information revealed last week during financial analyst day. Among the novelties presented are the future launch of products (processors and graphics cards) based on a 7nm process.

AMD to Launch RX Vega Graphics Cards for Professionals and Gaming Over the Next Months

During the second week of June, AMD will present the first Vega products under the Frontier Edition name, as confirmed by the CEO of the company, in addition to revealing that it will launch Vega products in all segments of the company, including Radeon RX graphics cards for Gaming, Radeon Instinct for Artificial Intelligence Acceleration and Radeon Pro professional graphics.

Given that the Radeon RX Vega Frontier Edition will arrive in the second half of June and that AMD will launch its full range of Vega discrete graphics cards over the next few months, probably a large part of these launches will be concentrated in the month of July, at which point AMD will once again be competitive in the high-end market side by side with NVIDIA.

The company demonstrated Vega's gaming performance in a stunning 4K demo during Financial Analyst Day, held last week. The results were nothing less than impressive, even exceeding the GTX 1080, although as in these cases, the demos do not always reflect performance in real life.
