Table of contents:
Today Nvidia has officially announced that Metro Exodus and Battlefield V are fully compatible with Nvidia RTX. Real-time ray tracing and AI with DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) will provide us with a new level of graphical experience in two of today's most powerful games.
The new Metro Exodus has Ray Tracing and DLSS since its launch
One of the most anticipated games of the year is undoubtedly Metro Exodus, the third installment of 4A Games that immerses us again in this post-apocalyptic world that so many have achieved throughout its history with the 4A Engine graphics engine.
Prepared for the new generation, this is how this Metro comes with the official launch this February 15, 2019, with full compatibility with the real-time ray tracing of the new Nvidia RTX. This system is used to achieve global illumination with rays and ambient occlusion similar to reality. It has also been announced that DLSS will also be supported since its release.
If you do not already know it, what Ray Tracing achieves is to model how light looks and behaves in the real world to adapt this realism to the world of video games. It will certainly be something that will provide more immersion in the game giving us the feeling that we really are inside the dangerous post-apocalyptic world of Metro. Beware of the most sensitive people, because the feeling of anxiety and tension to be always on the verge of death will be for many the best experience ever created in a video game.
Also DLSS support will provide deep learning and artificial intelligence for Nvidia RTX GPUs to improve performance substantially. This technology is the evolution of traditional Anti-aliasing, to create a high fluidity of game scenes with better sharpness and sharper edges. Nividia claims performance increases by up to 30% with Ultra Preset and High Ray Tracing on the most powerful GPUs. Without a doubt a game that promises to make the most of these new RTX.
Battlefield V now also supports DLSS
You will already know that Battlefield V was the first game to implement Ray Tracing technology in its graphics engine. The interesting thing is that it has now been updated to also support DLSS to circle the impressive graphics quality of this Frostbite engine as one of the best ever created in the industry.
Thanks to this update the game performance increases up to 40% depending on the GPU and the resolution used. In addition, there are also a few optimizations regarding the use of Ray Tracing, without altering the image quality or the configuration that we have.
Undoubtedly, the times that come in video games promise to take a leap in graphic quality both on desktops and in virtual reality. The new generation is already here thanks to Nvidia and its impressive RTX with Turing technology. Do you already have Metro reserved or do you play Battlefiel V? Tell us what you think about these RTX technologies, do you think they are improvements worthy of a new generation?
