The new GeForce GTX 980 and 970 with Nvidia's Maxwell architecture have hit the ground running with very high performance and a contained and lower price than their predecessors, especially the GTX 970 with its fantastic price / performance ratio. However, the NotebookCheck website gives more modest specifications for the GTX 980M, according to them said graphic would have 1664 CUDA Cores and the GTX 970M only 1280 CUDA Cores and a memory interface of only 192 bits.
