Google has released a list of products that cover its entire line of Chromebook models, showing which ones are vulnerable to Meltdown.

CCromebooks are very safe against Meltdown

Following Meltdown and the revelation of the Specter flaws a few weeks ago, several companies have been releasing updates to address security concerns. This includes hardware manufacturers Intel, NVIDIA, Apple and Microsoft. Intel is the hardest hit, as failures greatly affect its CPUs. In addition, they have a giant market share, which exacerbates the number of affected users.

Chromebook List and Patch Status

The complete list is available on the Chromium Projects website. List each and every device that is secure or going to be patched for Meltdown. Due to the age of some products that are in EOL, some Chromebooks will not receive updates.

The list displays the public code name of the product, as well as the most common marketing name. What users should look for are the last two columns on the right; CVE-2017-5754 Mitigations (KPTI) and KPTI eventually? All devices with the word 'Yes' in the last two columns do not need a patch for Meltdown.

The following Chromebooks devices will not receive updates due to their age.
