Today we have learned that the next WhatsApp update will add the functionality of payments. That is, users can make payments from WhatsApp. For now it is not yet implemented nor will you be able to see it in a beta, we would have to wait a while, but it is good news.

As we have read through The Ken, WhatsApp has as last minute plans to add an interbank payment system to the app. In other words, users could fiddle with payments in approximately 6 months. So if there are no last minute changes, users could make payments with WhatsApp this year.

The next WhatsApp update will allow payments

This implementation is not new, since WhatsApp is from Facebook and the boys of the social network have already added payments to Messenger. It is clear that carrying the code is easy. And this innovation is needed in the leading messaging app, because more and more third-party apps that offer this service appear.

We could be paying with WhatsApp this year, in 2017. At the moment we do not know much more, only that soon we will have mobile payments in the app.

However, references to the Stripe app have been seen, which is a free app for Android and is focused on mobile payments, so the shots could go a bit there. It is possible that WhatsApp wants to add the option to pay with WhatsApp to stand up more to Telegram, which has recently added calls to its application.

So very soon, possibly within a maximum period of 6 months we will see this new feature. Users will be able to make payments by WhatsApp without depending on a third-party app. Why depend on a third party if you can do everything from WhatsApp? We just hope that the app does not start to malfunction and it is annoying to use it.
