We recently told you about the study that the Der8auer overclocker did to almost 3000 users and it seems that the results were quite conclusive. Almost as if it were an answer, AMD has announced that it will release a patch that fixes the boost frequency problem in the Ryzen 3000 Series .

Patch will fix Ryzen 3000 Series boost performance

As we have seen on different occasions, the Ryzen 3000 Series has been a leap in power compared to Ryzen 2000 . However, the problem arises when many units are not able to reach the advertised boost frequencies.

In the study made by the overclocker Der8auer , only 5.6% of more than 700 users with Ryzen 9 3900X reached 4.6 GHz. To solve this, AMD has made a statement showing its awareness of the issue.

They say that by September 10 they will have a BIOS update to improve these numbers. However, this patch will not be distributed to the public, but the manufacturing companies will have to adapt them to their motherboards. We do not know if this update will also reach the older ones, but we hope so.

Regarding the Ryzen 3000 Series , we have the following processors:

Ryzen CPU 5 3600 5 3600X 7 3700X 7 3800X 9 3900X 9 3950X

You have to remember that, in addition, all will bring support for PCIe Gen 4 and other technologies such as Wi-Fi 6 . On the other hand, extra models such as the Ryzen 5 3500 are expected , although they are not yet for sale.
