AMD recently made a series of new product announcements at Computex 2019 and it seems that enthusiasts and investors alike are delighted with the introductions they have made, both for third-generation Ryzen and for the new EPYC Rome.

AMD shares rose 10% with announcements made at Computex

AMD briefly introduced the latest generation Ryzen 3000 and EPYC family, plus Navi GPUs, all products at 7nm.

The introduction of the third generation Ryzen with performance improvements and more than competitive prices, plus the announcement of EPYC Rome outperforming the Intel Cascade Lake chips, was enough for some analysts to predict an increase in AMD's market share, mainly to at the expense of its main rival, Intel. Cowen analyst Matthew Ramsey covers the semiconductor sector for the company and presented a very optimistic outlook for the chipmaker.

Ramsey writes in a note to investors: "We anticipate that these products will drive growth above expectations, such as equity earnings, margin expansion and AMD stock appreciation . " Ramsey said AMD should do "very well" in the data center market and specifically names the segment in the cloud because of the strengths of the upcoming EPYC pieces.

His opinion was probably influenced by AMD's demonstration that showed off an EPYC versus Xeon system. The EPYC system won easily, and it's important to note that the AMD system is expected to be slightly cheaper given what we know about Xeon's pricing.

It was a very interesting day on Wall Street among the top tech companies. AMD shares traded up 11.5% higher, but relaxed to almost 10% gain on closing day at a cost of $ 29.03 per share.

The third generation Ryzen will arrive in July, while EPYC will do so in the third quarter of this year.
