Polaris 30 is not even part of any existing roadmap, but rumors are starting to come out about new Radeon graphics cards that will use this iteration of the well-known Polaris, which powered AMD's RX 400 and RX 500 graphics cards.

Polaris 30 would offer 15% more performance than Polaris 20

AMD Polaris 30 GPUs are totally unknown and aren't even part of any roadmap we've seen so far. The Polaris 30 GPU is said to be the third iteration of the high-end Polaris lineup that initially appeared as Polaris 10 in 2016, followed by Polaris 20 in 2017. This new GPU would use the latest 12nm FinFET process and a performance jump of about 15% over Polaris 20 GPUs. This performance jump seems low to hurt Pascal in the high-end, but AMD's goal doesn't seem Be that precisely, but offer a card with a good price / performance margin in the mid-range.

The presence of these new Polaris 30 chips seems strange, but if making memory, Polaris 20 was not in any roadmap either, and finally ended up materializing in the RX 500 series, while all eyes were on RX VEGA.

Meanwhile, it is speculated that Polaris 30 could also be reaching the notebook segment instead of VEGA. VEGA GPUs do not yet have any variant for notebooks (except those that come in the Raven Ridge APU), so AMD may be thinking of launching the new Polaris for that segment, which would be somewhat disappointing.
