Gigabyte dual thunderbolt motherboards unveiled at ces 2013 with 4k resolution using intel collage technology
GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, today announces the availability of support for 4K screen resolutions using 1080p displays with Intel® Collage technology. This new functionality is achieved after an update to the Intel® graphics driver that each motherboard manufacturer has to implement individually, and only then becomes available to the user.
Using just the integrated Intel® HD4000 graphics of any 3rd generation Intel® Core ™ i5 or i7 processor, GIGABYTE Thunderbolt ™ dual motherboards with the new 4K Collage Graphics driver can stream video stream at Ultra HD 4k resolution at through four normal screens. Intel® Collage technology is easy to configure, and uses dual Thunderbolt ™ ports for four digital streams for a combined Ultra HD resolution of 3840 x 2400 pixels.
"Having already implemented Intel's new Collage technology makes GIGABYTE-exclusive Dual Thunderbolt ™ motherboards the first to support the latest Ultra HD resolution through four standard displays than usual today, " said Henry Kao, vice president of the GIGABYTE motherboard business unit. in markets such as digital signage, surveillance, health, etc. at the same time as allowing those who choose to mount their own PC to have support for a 4K resolution simply by updating a driver with their own hardware, and without the need for a VGA card.

Dual Thunderbolt ™ ports on GIGABYTE motherboards
