The ps4 with 1 tb hdd do not benefit from the improvements in consumption that the 500 gb ones do
A few weeks ago Sony announced the CUH-1200 update of the hardware of its PS4 that reduces the consumption and heat generated thanks to an improvement in the optical drive and the inclusion of fewer memory chips with greater individual capacity. Some improvements that users expected in the new console with 1TB HDD but ultimately it is not.
Finally, the new 1TB PS4 does not take advantage of the new hardware that reduces power consumption by up to 36% in standby and 25% at full performance. A reduction in consumption that brings with it a lower generation of heat allowing the hardware to run cooler, improving its life expectancy.
So if you plan to buy a PS4 you may be interested in acquiring a model with a 500 GB hard drive that does include the new CUH-1200 hardware, if you need it you can always upgrade the HDD to one of higher capacity or to an SSD.
What do you think of this Sony move?
